Slovenia, Julian Alps, Lake Bled

Quite a busy day yesterday, having arrived in Bled from Ljubljana the evening before. I spent the majority of the day in The Triglav Narional Park in the Julian Alps, part of the wider European Alpine Range. In addition to bragging the Alps as a backdrop, Bled is also famed for its lake, which I have to say is rather impressive, particularly looking across the lake and up to Bled Castle,  perched high above on a steep cliff. The church on the tiny island in the middle is also very attractive. Moved from Bled to Lake Bohinj - equally impressive!! Then headed to Kranjska Gora to drive the Vrsic Pass. The pictures will speak for themselves in this respect. The drive out of the national park through the Soca Valley capped a fabulous day, which ended on a campsite in a place called Ankaran, close to Koper on Slovenia's Adriatic Coast. Yes, the tent is out for the first time this trip and I hope it's the first of many!! Pictures of Lake Bled to start.
