Hungary, Budapest

Arrived in the city yesterday late in  the afternoon on what may have been the hottest day of my trip so far. It's  been blistering for a while now and a good thunderstorm certainly wouldn't go amiss. Budapest was originally made up by the amalgamation of three separate cities but only two feature in the name. Buda, which is west of the Danube and Pest on the East side. You never know it may come up in a quiz!! Anyway I spent my day in Buda which boasts most of the city's remaining medieval buildings. The Royal Palace and Mathias Church can also be found there , both sights to behold, together with a number of other very impressive pieces of architecture. Plan to spend another full day in the city tomorrow before moving on to Lake Balaton on Sunday. Provided I complete everything I want to do here that is!
Couple of pictures looking up towards Buda Castle Hill to start. One towards the castle and the other towards Mathias Church - the spire on the left!
