Serbia, Subotico

Nearly called it Subbutio but that was a game I used to play as a kid. Not sure I've  spelt it correctly but is it still around? Dropped into Serbia yesterday and stopped off at Subotico on my way to a city called Novi Sad, where I landed around tea time. I had to pass through a smidgen of Croatia to get into Serbia and it was the first time I have had to get my passport out since I started this trip. And getting into Serbia was certainly the second!! Very, very officious!! And it gave the impression that the country isn't bothered whether it attracts tourists or not. Which is interesting because I was talking to a waitress yesterday evening who, considering I only had a beer, told me that my tip was more than she earned in an hour. You would think in this day and age the country would want the income from tourism and do a bit of work on its customet service!! Conversely, people generally have been very welcoming. And some have really gone out of their way to be helpful.
Anyway, a couple of pictures from my stop in Subotica city centre.
