The eagle has landed!! Arrived in Istanbul mid afternoon, thankfully unscathed!! I know I castigated Turkish driving yesterday, but little did I know!! I'm speechless. I think the only thing I can say is that it was the most challenging drive of my life!! The city itself is massive, 16 million I've heard say! And as you probably know part of the city lies in Europe and part in Asia, divided by a stretch of river called the Bosphorous. Staying in a hotel in the old town and went out for a couple of hours late afternoon and just wandered around. There's an extremely bubbly atmosphere to the place and sales people are very in your face. Had a brief encounter with the Grand Bazar, which we will revisit in the next couple of days, and I've already lost count of the number of Mosques! I must say however that some of them are very impressive pieces of architecture. Really looking forward to tomorrow. Just got to work out how its best done!! Time for a shower and some food now.
