Serbia, Nis

Nis is a significant city in the south of Serbia en route to Belgrade. As with a lot of Serbia a bit of a tidy up wouldn't go amiss but otherwise pleasant enough with people willing to try to help regardless of a lack of English  language skill! The fortress was worth the time spent but the Red Cross Concentration Camp brought tears to the eyes and what they call the Skull Tower was morbidly fascinating. A concentration camp requires no explanation and I will leave you to Google the Skull Tower, save to say that it is literally a concrete tower with human skulls embedded in it!! Moved on into Bulgaria from there and I have never come across a border control like it in my life. I can only describe it as a 2 hour fiasco!
