Arrived in Belgrade early afternoon, checked in to a really good hotel at £15 each per night, and immediately headed for the city. Explored the Kalemegdan citadel, and spent the rest of the day in the old town. Much better architectural examples elsewhere but a really good feel to the place and very friendly natives. Sat in Republic Square drinking beer and people watching for a couple of hours. Fascinating!! Italian for super including a very good bottle of wine - John was paying - and something of a hangover this morning. Will be back on the Belgrade case in due course.
