Bulgaria, Sofia

First impressions of Bulgaria borne out by a trip to Sofia. In need of a considerable makeover. And people have to dispose of their refuse in a more appropriate manner!! Quite lovely countryside but very limited  infrastructure. The roads are the most serious test of the cars suspension I have yet encountered and too many Bulgarian drivers are on a death wish!! I kid you not!! Unfortunately, comparatively speaking. Sofia still appears to be in the grips of post communist hangover with little sign of a recovery programme. Grey,  antiquated high rise tenement blocks continue to offer the main source of housing stock and noteworthy examples of architecture are scarce. The pedestrian centre is pleasant but comprises of a single street and coffee and cake barely adequate!!
Only stayed a couple of hours!!
As with housing, my picture stock is limited.
