This area of Romania, right on the southern edge of Transylvania, really is beautiful. Visited Bran Castle today, supposedly the inspiration behind the creation of Stoker's Dracula. Unfortunately, the paraphernalia surrounding Bran town which lies at the foot of the 60 metre high castle is more akin to Scarborough sea front than anything else and with crowds to match!!! Moved on to a town called Rasnov, home to the ruins of a 13th century fortress. Once again not a great deal to commend it unless you like 13th century fortress ruins and hoards of people. But the drive through the mountains, well that was once again something else, despite the state of the roads and the volume of cars!!
Pictures from the day attached.
Much love,
