Czech Republic, Pilzen - On Towards Prague

What a contrast!! New Zealand and the Czech Republic.  The former with next to no history and the latter with history everywhere!  Says he after one day in the country! Just can't see it being any different anywhere else I go. Which is another problem. How much time do I spend in each country. To some extent I'm going to be guided by Lonely Planet. Which as far as CR is concerned is Prague and Cesky Krumlov.
Thought I'd  have a leisurely day after yesterday. And duly did. Didn't  leave Bor until miday with a view to slowly making my way to Prague. Didn't make it. Holed up in a pension- supposedly a step down from a hotel, in a village called Vraz, about ten miles from the capital. The prices here beggar belief. The accommodation is certainly better than last night and again room, dinner (three courses of fairly simple but wholesome food), a large beer and  2 glasses of wine unfortunately, less than 35 pounds. I could get used to this!! A word on the beer. CR has a reputation for its beer. It might not be cask ale but it's bloody good. I have to make an effort not too attached to this lifestyle as I'm still very injured!!  Achilles tear on my right and a groin strain on my left. Have to rest for at least another two weeks before I can even think about getting started again. Hell !!
Anyway, I've had a really good day. Driven maybe 90 miles, initially to a city called Pilzen. Be aware that s's and z's seem interchangeable here and my map is German!! Architecture out of this world. I've attached a few pics, in which I hope I've captured some of the beauty of it. Then drove a scenic route through villages and towns to Vraz. Don't  expect to be stunned by the countryside. NZ is a world apart. But it's lush, undulating, hilly in places on the route I took, and very, very beautiful. Again I've attached some pics.
Will go into Prague tomorrow and the day after, and maybe the day after that. We'll see. Quite excited. It's my intention to visit the capital cities of all the countries I visit over here.
Speak soon,
Couple if pics of Pilzen attached.
